Dr. Freeman grew up in Chanute, Kansas.  He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from  Southern College of Optometry in Memphis,  Tennessee.  He has completed post-graduate education from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Ocular Therapy and from University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry in Glaucoma Treatment.   He has been providing optometric services in Winfield since 1972.

Dr. Freeman is also certified to fit Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) contact lenses.  CRT is a reversible reshaping of the cornea (the front surface of the eye) through overnight contact lens wear.  During the day, CRT patients can see clearly without the use of glasses or contact lenses.  CRT is an excellent option fo nearsighted children and teenagers who are active in sports and water activities.  Studies have also shown that CRT can slow the progression of nearsightedness.

He is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association,  Heart of American Contact Lens Society, Winfield Chamber of Commerce, Winfield Rotary Club, William Newton Hospital Foundation board of directors and serves as chairman of the Research Committee for the Synder Medical Research Foundation.

Dr. Freeman and his wife, Lucy, and family reside in Winfield where Lucy practices law.
